The Power of Failing is the first studio album from the Austin, Texas-based emo band Mineral. Released on January 28, 1997, The Power of Failing was made available on both LP and CD format and has since been acclaimed as an essential album from the 90s emo movement. The Power of Failing received extreme praise for its songwriting and honest lyrics. Mineral The Power of Failing Members: Chris Simpson - guitar, vocals Jeremy Gomez - bass guitar Gabriel Wiley - drums Scott McCarver - guitar Additional. The Power of Failing. Released January 28, 1997. The Power of Failing Tracklist. Five, Eight and Ten Lyrics. Listen free to Mineral The Power of Failing Five. Eight and Ten, Gloria and more. 10 tracks 49:41. Mineral could refer to at least four bands: an emo band from Austin Texas, Armenian rock music veterans from Jermuk and another one from Boston. 1 Mineral formed in 1994 and like other young bands, they toured constantly, virtually living in their van. The band's first release, the 7 inch GloriaParking Lot 7, was released on Audio Concept by Kerry McDonald from Christie Front Drive the record was later re-released by Caulfield Records. Songs in album Mineral - The Power Of Failing 1995. Mineral - Five, Eight, And Ten. Mineral - Gloria. Mineral - Slower. Mineral - Dolorosa. Mineral - Take The Picture Now. Mineral - Parking Lot. Mineral formed in 1994, and released some singles and toured like crazy, so Failing felt like a culmination. Conversely, EndSerenading, which they recorded with producer Mark Trombino Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, felt, at times, like a lukewarm new beginning. They were supposed to do a third album for Interscope, but, of course, it never happened. Which, honestly, is probably for the best. When I listened to the Power of Failing in real time back then, it was often on a cassette that I'd dubbed from the vinyl, for when I was traveling. Because of that, I always thought February and M. were part of the proper record, and was surprised to realize they weren't. Album 1997 10 Songs. This is my first review so I'm gonna do the best I can here and introduce this lovely quartet. Chris Simpson sings and plays guitar, Scott McCarver plays guitar, Jeremy Gomez plays bass and Gabriel Wiley plays drums. 80-37 is a very happy track, in comparison to the rest of the album anyway. Starts of with a odd little guitar riff leaving the bass and drums to keep the tempo of the song. Band Name Mineral. Album Name The Power of Failing. Type Album. Released date 28 January 1997.
